What is ISOA Framework for Quality

The International Organization for Standardization is the specialized international agency for standardization, at present comprising the national standards bodies of 91 countries.

ISO is made up of approximately 180 Technical Committees. Each Technical Committee is responsible for one of many areas of specialization ranging from asbestos to zinc. The purpose of ISO is to promote the development of standardization and related worldactivities to facilitate the international exchange of goods and services, and to develop cooperation in intellectual, scientific, technological, and economic activity. The results of ISO technical work are published as international standards.

ISO is not an acronym for International Organization for Standardization. It is actually a Greek word meaning equal. For example an Isosceles triangle has three equal sides with three equal angles. In business, ISO is a Quality Management System framework that enables an organization to develop standards and processes, that when used in an equal and uniform manner, ensures the organization's ability to consistently meet its customers' needs and expectations.

Following is a basic overview of Atlantic Relocation System's Quality Management System process:

  • Initially, we identify our customers' requirements and determine their needs and expectations.
  • We then translate those requirements into organizational processes by identifying and defining all of the activities and tasks performed by our employees.
  • We then document the activities and tasks as processes or train our employees on the activities and tasks so that they are performed consistently in order to meet internal and external customer needs.
  • Once the processes are implemented, we internally audit our performance against defined goals, standards, and customer expectations in order to verify that the process output meets organizational and customer requirements.
  • In the event that a process does not meet expectations, we have a process whereby we correct any variance to our achievement of the goals, standards, or customer requirements so that we continuously improve our performance and thus, continuously improve quality throughout the organization.
  • Annually, the Quality System is audited by an independent, third-party auditory who evaluates our Quality System and its ability to meet customer requirements. The auditor then makes a recommendation to the ISO Accreditation organization.
  • If the third-party auditor recommends certification, the ISO Accreditation organization reviews the audit results and the auditor's recommendation. If the ISO Accreditation organization finds the Quality System in compliance, it then certifies that the Quality System meets international standards.

Earning ISO Certification was not easy. Maintaining certification is even harder. Year after year Atlantic strives to identify our customers’ needs and then meet those needs through the implementation of our Quality Management System. As a customer of Atlantic Relocation Systems, you can rest assured that our processes will consistently meet your needs and expectations because it is only through meeting your needs and expectations that Atlantic continues to earn international recognition as an ISO Certified company.
